As we stand on the threshold of a new year, we’re taking a moment to pause, reflect, and, most importantly, thank you. Thanks to the unwavering support of donors, advocates, and allies like you, 2024 was a year of incredible progress for animals trapped in the research industry. Together, we accomplished so much — and every victory belongs to you. 

In 2024, your compassion and dedication helped us fight for animals in labs like never before. Here are just a few of the milestones we reached together:

• Demanding recognition for all victims: From cold-blooded animals to chimpanzees, dogs, and other nonhuman primates, we shined a light on their suffering and fought for justice. 
• Speaking out against taxpayer-funded cruelty: We advocated tirelessly to stop our hard-earned tax dollars from being funneled into unethical and indefensible experiments on unconsenting animals. 
• Confronting the industry’s secrets: We investigated the animal research industry and pursued honesty and transparency, exposing the hidden horrors within.
• Building powerful alliances: We joined forces with grassroots groups, animal protection organizations, and farmed animal allies to strengthen the fight for all animals exploited by the animal industrial complex.
• Taking legal action: We sued the USDA — not once, but twice — for failing to protect animals in labs, holding them accountable for neglecting their duties. 
• Unveiling the truth: Through thousands of records, photos, and videos added to our open-source database, ARLO, we exposed the realities the animal research industry desperately wants to keep hidden. 
• Spreading the word: We shared weekly roundups of all the latest media coverage about animal experimentation, and we highlighted the newest scientific advancements that are advancing human health without exploiting anyone in labs.
• Amplifying whistleblowers’ voices: We gave courageous individuals a platform to reveal the shocking abuse animals endure behind closed doors. 
• Stopping key players in their tracks: We identified and took action against those driving harm to animals, demanding accountability and change. 
• Celebrating survivors: Animals like Teddy, Ellie, and Gryffin, who overcame unimaginable suffering, reminded us of the resilience and hope we fight for every day. 

And while we celebrate these victories, we know that our work to free animals from exploitation in the research industry is far from over. 

As we move into 2025, we are fueled by hope, determination, and the knowledge that we have an incredible community — you — standing with us. This year, we will continue to:

• Fight to abolish experimentation on nonhuman animals;  
• Push for laws that protect animals from exploitation in the animal research industry and the wider animal industrial complex; 
• Expose the truth that the animal research industry would rather keep hidden from us all; 
• Advocate for the widespread adoption of better science that’s at once ethical, effective, and human-relevant; 
• Hold accountable the institutions responsible for their exploitation and  (mis)treatment of animals; and
• Support the rescue and rehabilitation of survivors of animal research. 

Your belief in this mission inspires us every single day. It’s because of you that we’re able to keep pushing forward, making strides toward a world where no animal suffers in the name of science.

So, thank you. Thank you for being part of this movement. Thank you for standing up for animals who are forced into quiet, hidden submission in laboratories. Thank you for making 2024 such a monumental year for animals in labs. We can’t wait to see what we accomplish together in 2025.
