Giving Tuesday: Save More Animals Like Gryffin from Labs
For years now, Gryffin has been my constant companion. His kind eyes, wagging tail, and boundless love brighten my life every day. But Gryffin’s story didn’t begin with happiness. It began in the cold and sterile confines of a research laboratory.
When I first met him, Gryffin’s wide eyes told a story of pain and fear. He was one of countless animals trapped in a system that views them as test subjects rather than individuals. Gryffin and the others with him were destined for a tragic end: euthanasia after enduring painful and unnecessary experiments. In Gryffin’s case, he was infected with cancer, cured, and then scheduled to be killed since he was no longer a useful “test subject”.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of Rise for Animals’ supporters, Gryffin’s story transformed from tragedy to happily-ever-after.
How Donations Save Animals Like Gryffin
Gryffin was saved during a life-changing rescue mission — a mission made possible by donors who believe that every animal deserves a second chance. I was lucky to be part of the team that freed Gryffin (and many other dogs and cats!) from a university laboratory. The day we pulled them to safety, I knew I couldn’t leave this one small, brown pup behind.
So I brought him home, and he’s been my loyal companion ever since.
Now, Gryffin’s life is filled with love, safety, and joy. He is living proof of what’s possible when we come together for animals.
But while Gryffin’s story has a happy ending, there are still millions of animals suffering in laboratories across the country.
Why We Need to End Animal Testing
Every year, millions of animals endure unimaginable pain in experiments that are scientifically outdated and cruel. These tests don’t just harm animals — they often fail to produce reliable results for humans.
This Giving Tuesday, you can help change that.

Donate Today: Be a Hero for Animals in Labs
Gryffin’s rescue was only possible because people like you stepped up to help. This Giving Tuesday, you can be the reason more animals are freed from labs.
Your gift can free animals from labs, care for survivors of research and testing, power grassroots campaigns, empower industry whistleblowers, and further fuel the fight to end animal testing for good. Every donation — big or small — makes a difference.
Be a hero for animals like Gryffin. He is one of the few lucky ones. Let’s make sure there are more stories like his — stories of survival, resilience, and compassion. Thank you for standing with us for all the unseen animals in labs.
