At a single site in May 2026, federal inspectors documented a staggering 26,000 puppies, adult dogs, and ferrets. Marshall BioResources (A.K.A. Marshall, Marshall Farms, or MBR) breeds and sells the Marshall Beagle®, Marshall Ferret®, Marshall Cat®, and Gottingen Minipigs® by the thousands. Marshall sells and ships these animals to research labs across the U.S. and around the world, including private contract companies and universities, where they may endure toxicology testing or invasive, deadly experiments.

Whistleblowers have captured photos and footage from the inside—including beagles in cages suspended over feces-strewn floors and ferrets lying with their babies in filth. Unsurprisingly, Marshall BioResources’ own promotional footage leaves those scenes out.

Whistleblowers have reported and documented filthy, unsanitary living conditions; rampant neglect of animals’ most basic physical, psychological, and veterinary needs; bloody injuries routinely induced by unsafe housing; and frequent deaths of animals, including puppies, caused by negligence.

If you think this sounds like animal cruelty, urge the District Attorney of Wayne County, NY to launch an official investigation of Marshall BioResources.
