Heather Courtney is CEO and Founder of Alwyn Capital, an early-stage investment firm that focuses on removing animals from the consumer supply chain. She is a seasoned real estate investor who saw the opportunity to align her investment portfolio with her animal rights ethos through investing in early stage companies committed to improving the lives of animals.

She has been an animal rights activist for her entire adult life, participating in grassroots and direct-action campaigns, volunteering at countless shelters, running a Trap, Neuter, Return program, doing vegan outreach and speaking out about the use of animals in experimentation. Heather has been vegan for 23 years and, in that time, has witnessed the exponential growth of the plant-based food sector and knows the space intimately. She is a Deal Lead for the GlassWall Syndicate (a group of mission-aligned vegan investors) and the Co-Chair for GlassWall’s Alternatives to Animal Testing Committee. She lives in Brooklyn with her partner and a rotating cast of rescue animals.
