Virtual Workshop FAQs

What do I need to join?

  • We use the online platform Zoom for workshops. Please login to Zoom in advance of the webinar to download any relevant plug-ins and to test your connection. For more information on how to connect please visit this link.

  • In order to receive the login information, you must register on the Workshop page.

  • It is greatly preferred that you use your video function to join this workshop. Although it’s possible to call-in on phone, we highly recommend joining via computer or tablet so you can make the most of the workshop. If your computer does not have audio function, we encourage you to login with both your computer for the video and call-in to participate in the discussions.

What should I bring?

  • You will need some paper and a pen/pencil/marker. Please have these materials on-hand when you join so that you can participate fully in the workshop.

  • We recommend using headphones with a mic, particularly if you will have background noise where you join from.

Do I have to commit to attending all workshops?

  • No, different workshops will appeal to different individuals. At this time we do not have any workshops that require prerequisite workshops or reading.

What can I expect?

  • This will be an interactive workshop. Attendees will have opportunities to speak with each other and engage in brief activities. This is not only meant to be a way to meet other like-minded animal advocates, but also to maximize the learning you take away from the experience. Please come prepared to participate. We will also cover a lot of information, but don’t worry, all the presentation material will be emailed to you the next day.

Do you have to be an activist to attend?

  • Rise for Animals Workshops are open to everyone looking to build their skills to help animals—no experience necessary. If there’s a topic that sounds interesting and helpful for you, we hope you will join us!

Who are these workshops for?

  • Anyone interested in learning more about how you can help animals in laboratories. Each workshop explores a specific topic intended to build your skills to become a stronger advocate for animals. We believe the group dynamic of these workshops are best when we have a range of attendees, from long-time campaigners to brand new animal advocates.

What do they cost?

Rise for Animals workshops are free to attend! They’re made possible by our generous donors. You can support our workshops by making a donation.
