What is happening to the dogs inside Ridglan Farms is a moral emergency. These are beagles—living, thinking, feeling beings—who have been reduced to ID codes and treated as disposable merchandise. They are bred for pain by a system that treats their sentience as an inconvenience. We refuse to look away.
This conviction is what unites everyone in our movement as we work toward a shared goal: to shut down Ridglan Farms, free these animals from suffering, and dismantle the animal experimentation pipeline.
We recognize and respect the many advocates, organizations, and individuals who have devoted themselves to these dogs. Each brings different tools and plays a vital role in a cause that demands courage from all of us.
Rise for Animals’ role is to pursue strategic, lawful advocacy and relentless investigative work that ensures the slow collapse of this violent enterprise becomes a total one. That is how we create lasting change—not only for the dogs currently at Ridglan, but for every animal who would otherwise be bred to replace them. If the demand stops, the cruelty stops.
Rise has worked to dismantle the wall of secrecy that keeps Ridglan operating in the shadows. Through our investigations, we have exposed the failures of oversight that allow Ridglan to escape meaningful accountability while continuing to breed dogs, use them for experimentation, and sell them for others to use. The evidence is damning: felony mutilation of puppies, rubber-stamped federal inspections, and state officials who failed to intervene even as illegal conduct was documented. Our work has helped force Ridglan into a spotlight it can no longer escape.
Ridglan Farms is one piece of a vast, interconnected ecosystem that profits from animal exploitation. Our mission is larger: to end all animal experimentation in our lifetime. Whether a beagle at Ridglan or any of the millions of mice, monkeys, rats, or rabbits imprisoned for research, no living being should suffer in a laboratory.
Animals are not research tools. Rise for Animals will continue working alongside every partner in this movement until animal experimentation is abolished for good.
